NEW DELHI, INDIA, July 2, 2015 – The majority of Indian employers have to make compromises when hiring new staff – with over half experiencing a shortage of qualified candidates – according to a new survey.
Independent research agency IMRB International carried out a comprehensive survey on behalf of computer-based testing company Pearson VUE. The 100 Indian hiring managers surveyed are from a diverse range of sectors including manufacturing, IT, finance, health, construction, professional services, real estate, media and logistics.
Of those surveyed, almost six in ten (58 percent) reported that they had compromised when hiring talent and over 50 percent reported a lack of qualified candidates applying for jobs.
Divyalok Sharma, director of client development at Pearson VUE, said: “Our survey
is revealing in terms of the underlying and ongoing challenges for India’s employers in finding and retaining skilled, qualified talent and the impact of hiring compromises. However there are solutions to these challenges as well.”
